However, now the time has come to step out of the comfort zone and challenge myself.
Next weekend, a kayaking adventure for the documentary Joen Lumo is filmed. Three days of kayaking, beautiful nature, roaring whitewater and surviving in the Finnish springtime nature. It doesn’t really sound like my kind of weekend but I’ll take the challenge.
The kayaking adventure is part of the documentary Joen Lumo that tells about the Siuntio River, and it will be completed next year.
Film producer is the long-term photographer and outdoor man Aki Rahikka. In addition to the kayaking adventure,
I produce the music for the film.

We just finished the first rehearsing session for our upcoming debut album.
Currently we're working a lot on drum arrangements since the drums will be the first to be recorded. We will of course work to improve all elements and structures of the songs eventually. Just to ensure that you, the fan get the best album Astralion can provide.
From Astralion's whole production so far which includes 16 songs, 11 have been carefully chosen for the record. It's been a really hard task because there was so much great material to choose from.
We have also been granted a generous financial contribution from Svenska Kulturfonden (the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland.) Which will certainly help in paying the studio fees. Whether the record will be released through a label or independently is not yet decided but one thing's for sure, our “beast” will be released!
The recording sessions will start in the beginning of July and continue towards the fall of 2013. So stay tuned for more news!
